10 Survival Tips for the NICU Mom

I gave birth to my twins at 38 weeks into my pregnancy, which is considered full-term for twins.  And much to my surprise and shock, I got the twin birth I had sort of "dreamed of" after what felt like a very difficult pregnancy compared to my singleton experience, and having had preeclampsia in this pregnancy - still don't even know how I managed to work at all or care for my then 4-year old (though I admit, many Netflix shows were watched and I pulled David early from his Pre-K-3 program as I just couldn't keep up any more).  On April 28, 2017 I gave birth vaginally to twin boys - Twin B, being delivered breech!  (A double whammy of a vaginal birth for one twin and c-section for the other was my worst nightmare, so I was thankful to avoid surgery)  We were truly so lucky to have had such a positive birthing experience and wonderful doctor delivering Adam and Matthew at NYU Langone Hospital.  However, just a few hours after their birth, one of the nurses in my...

My Top 3 Double Umbrella Strollers Review: Pros & Cons

Just before the twins were born, I sold our Uppababy Cruz I had for my first son, and was so thankful Grandma and Grandpa offered to buy me the stroller of my "twins plus one" mom dreams - our Uppababy Vista, with two seats and a piggyback board that could actually accommodate all 3 boys to ride on! Our Evenflo Minno Twin double stroller for Grandma's house To me, the stroller is the top item every mom should splurge on because it really should last a long time and it's used constantly!  I felt like we were outgrowing our precious Uppababy Vista stroller after the boys turned a year old and my oldest was not really using the board to ride on as much anymore and the twins began kicking the seats and throwing things at each other depending on who got the higher seat- and with the summer weather approaching, I decided it was time to really invest in a good double umbrella stroller and go from the in-line to a tandem side-by-side stroller (a huge decision for a mo...

Dear 3 Boys, I am so excited about sharing my journey of motherhood with everyone through this blog. Each of you inspire me and motivate me every day to be a better person and have given my life purpose.  Finding out I was having twins has been the most shocking news I have ever received in my lifetime, and nothing would have ever prepared me for this adventure of raising 3 boys. In April it will be a year since we welcomed Adam and Matthew to our family, so I wanted to share my greatest learnings.  These are 15 lessons I learned over this (almost) first year of my motherhood journey of having twins plus one: There is room in my heart for all 3 One of my greatest fears about even deciding to add another baby to the family was around the idea of how I’d divide my love, my time, my self with anyone other than my first sweet boy, David.  I mean, we spent 3 years together just him, Dad and myself - how could I love anyone else like David? Finding out we were g...
